Four courts, one river, a town that plays.
Coronation Park sits right on the water in the middle of Dartmouth — two floodlit all-weather courts, two more beside them, and a community that's been quietly building something good here since 2023.
"Dartmouth is a wonderful place to play tennis" isn't a slogan we came up with — it's just what people say after their first session here, with the river on one side and the town on the other.
Book a court
The courts are owned and run by Dartmouth Town Council, and booked through the LTA's ClubSpark system — open to season-ticket holders and casual visitors alike.

Join the Association
Formed in November 2023, when 97 local players joined together to secure regular weekly bookings at Coronation Park from the Town Council.
Membership is free, open to all ages and abilities, and it's how the social tennis groups and the Regatta tournament keep running.
Right in the middle of town
Coronation Park is a five-minute walk from the town centre, with toilets close by and no shortage of cafés and pubs for the debrief afterwards. Beyond the courts, Dartmouth offers boat trips, shops and restaurants — reasons enough to make a whole day of it.
Most members play in one of the weekly group sessions, run by a volunteer coordinator and organised largely by email. Groups mix abilities and ages, and some run a waiting list — you can ask to join any of them.
The week the club puts on its best tennis
Regatta Tennis is the fixture the whole season builds towards: a Closed tournament for local competitors, run alongside an Open tournament that carries full LTA Grade 3 ranking points and draws entries from well beyond Dartmouth.
It's organised entirely by volunteers from the Association's Regatta Tennis Committee, and it depends on strong entries as much as strong weather — both showed up this year.
Regatta Tennis is more than just tennis. The tea tent is vital too.

The Closed draw covered women's and men's singles, women's, men's and mixed doubles, Partners Drawn and the American, with first-round losers going into a Plate event — so nobody's Regatta ended after one match.

Dartmouth Davis Cup — USA retain the title
Sixteen players split into teams representing Wimbledon, France, the USA and Australia for an afternoon of friendly knockout tennis organised by Pam Braakenburg. Team USA — Patrick, Brian, Maria and Frankie — took the trophy for the second year running, on what everyone agreed was a genuinely lovely Sunday for it. A "Not the Davis Cup" follow-up is being tried out this autumn to see if the format works outside summer, too.
American Tournament, April 19th
A social fundraising tournament for Sue and Boo, run in aid of cancer charities, with the Yates family taking the honours — Stephen in the men's, Caryn in the ladies'.
